This year as we approach the 150th Anniversary of the formation of Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department, we are again reminded of the tremendous support that our community has provided our department throughout the years. This continued support plays a direct role in the success of our department. We invite you, your family and your friends to join us at this year’s Thibodaux Firemen’s Fair, our annual fundraising event, on May 2, 3, 4 & 5, 2024. Our annual parade will be on Sunday, May 5 and will start at 11
a.m.

The live auctions at the Thibodaux Fireman’s Fair will be Saturday, May 4 beginning at 6 p.m. behind the Auction Barn and Sunday, May 5 following the parade inside the Auction Barn. The department is accepting merchandise donations for the auctions. We also accept check and cash donations with which we can purchase items to be auctioned off in your name. You will receive recognition at the auction while the item is being auctioned. If you wish to make a merchandise or cash donation, please contact Trey Shields, Auction Chairman, by email at ( harryshieldsiii@gmail.com ). Auction items may also be dropped off during the fair at the Auction Barn or before the fair at Reeco Rental and Supply (1762 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA).

Funds raised from the Thibodaux Firemen’s Fair go a long way in supporting our department by funding equipment, training, facilities, and more. In 2023, the department continued to provide the same quality fire protection that it has provided since its inception, answering 463 total calls for service. Of these, 368 were fire calls and 95 were rescue calls. Our extremely dedicated members logged 2,544.46 meeting hours, 5,180.30 training hours and 653 hours in fire prevention education activities. Our membership and their dedication are the foundation of our department, and their commitment is evident through these many hours of hard work.

The members of the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department look forward to seeing you and your family at this year’s fair and parade. If you are unable to attend our fair but would like to contribute, please use the enclosed addressed envelope. If you live outside the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department’s fire protection area, we encourage you to contribute to your local fire department.
